The SpikeVest is designed to slow down or prevent surprise attacks, giving you the critical time needed to react before serious injury occurs. Similar to our original CoyoteVest, the SpikeVest swaps snap buckles for high-strength Velcro for a faster, adjustable fit.

Kevlar® Reinforcement: A large collar reinforced with genuine DuPont™ Kevlar® protects the vulnerable throat area.
Full Spike Set Included: Comes with removable chrome spikes for the neck and two spike strips for the back. These hard plastic spikes are safe to handle but sharp enough to deter a predator.
High Visibility: Built-in reflective features ensure your dog is seen at night.
All-Weather Durability: Water-repellent fabric with zero metal parts—nothing to rust!
Secure Attachment: Two wide Velcro belts keep the vest snug and secure.

Easy Cleaning: Hand-wash with mild detergent and air dry in the shade. (Do not use a dryer).
Note on Velcro: To ensure maximum security, keep Velcro clean of hair and dirt. While highly effective, Velcro can wear over time and may be less secure than snap buckles if not properly maintained.
The back length is your most important measurement.
Measure: From the front shoulder to the start of the tail.
Stand Straight: Ensure your dog is standing (not sitting).
Measure Straight: Hold the ruler/tape in a straight line; do not follow the curve of the dog’s back.

If you are between sizes, we recommend going with the smaller size. And if you're still not sure we can help. Just email us your measurements and a good side-view picture of your dog and we can give our best suggestion.
If your dogs waist or neck is larger than the ranges shown we recommend ordering an Extender for the waist and/or the neck. If your dogs waist is at the lower end or less than the given range we recommend ordering a Stay Strap to prevent the flap from dangling.

"I love the vest! It fits great and stays on great. It could be improved by adding a hole for the dogs collar and a hole if the dog wears a harness. I feel that would be safer than the options given if a predator attemps to grab your dog while on its leash. I am worried that the added harness holder will come loose and the ring from the collar tears. Yes my dog and I have been attacked by a coyote luckily I was able to pick him up. Also I wish the spikes were more secure. The little plastic clips come off easily."
"I bought the vest and the coyote whiskers. The vest is great but the whiskers are a pain!! First, I didn't realize they required so much effort to put together. You have to thread each whisker as it does not come complete. In addition, the velcro was not enough to keep them on the vest. Maybe if my dog is still and not moving at all. But the moment the leash brushes against them they would come off. Finally I had to duct tape and pin them on just to keep it on the vest. Seems like a design flaw that should require snaps or something more secure to keep them on. I hope they consider this going forward. The duct tape is NOT attractive :("

"I love this coyote vest. Easy to put on and exactly what my Yorkie needed to be safe going for walks in my neighborhood where there are many coyotes. We had a coyote scare when a coyote was approaching me and my yorkie at night. Now I feel safe with the coyote vest and I also got a light up collar. With both of those I feel safe. I do wish I had ordered the vest with buckles and not velcro because my dog freaks out and tries to bite me when I'm taking it off because he hates the sound of the velcro being undone, it scares him. But the velcro does keep the vest very secure."
