Light enough for a dog who hates clothes and harnesses
Review by Mary K. on 11 May 2023review stating Light enough for a dog who hates clothes and harnesses
Works great on trail runs with my 14 lb rat terrier/Chihuahua/etc mutt! I want to get a vest for her but she hates clothes, so I figured this would at least give her throat some protection from predators.
Introducing Sir Willam James, an honorable boy, fully prepared to protect his people and his land. 🛡⚔️🛡

Review by Trinh T. on 22 Jan 2020review stating Jake the Rock Star
My 10-year-old labrador Jake is super friendly, but I worry about him being attacked by predators. The collar is soft, adjustable and holds the spikes firmly. It fits nicely around Jake's neck.
I have my own coyotevestco body armor to wear for protection when we go out for walks. I have been attacked twice in the past five years. Wearing this will give mom a piece of mine now. #fluffinsmuffins#coyotevest#minpinrescue#minpinstagram#minpinsrule#minpinsrock
Review by Robin K. on 31 Oct 2019review stating Just what I was looking for!
Love this collar. I live in southwestern Utah and I hike in area's with coyotes. My Kelpie went after one the other day and I thought it got her but thankfully it didn't. But I want to protect her. She's a thirty year pound dog. I searched immediately for a collar and found this one and it is everything they said it was. Super lightweight and easy to remove or move the spikes. She only wears it while hiking. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!
Review by Jennifer S. on 29 Oct 2019review stating Very happy with the collar.
Very happy with the collar. We have coyotes frequently on our property. The collar gives Henry some additional protection should they get into our fenced yard.
Finally got a chance to take some photos of Moby in his new patchwork_and_paws USMC Dress Blues vest I had custom made for Jules! He was so pleased with how it turned out and happy that he finally has a vest for Moby instead of borrowing Lotus's old gear. Only thing I would make a comment on is that I ordered this vest about 6 months ago but I do realize that they have had a break inbetween to catch up on outstanding orders. I will be making a highlight for gear soon!

Review by Janet C. on 6 Sep 2019review stating Spike collars working great for my rescue!
I absolutely love these spike collars! They give the rescue dogs good protection, and they're adjustable, and the spikes are removable in order to accommodate the spikes where you want them on the collar. I love this bright orange color! Here is Liam, one of my rescue dogs!

Moby doesn't normally drool but gets slobbery jowls when he eats or drinks water. I've got to keep that in mind when doing PA because look how gross this nasty boy is. 🤤
Thank you coyotevestco for the awesome patriotic spiked collar! This is Sgt. Pepper’s new spiked collar. People seem to think it looks cute, which is a bonus. But it’s actually designed to protect against coyotes and aggressive dogs.
A few months ago, Pepper was attacked by a neighborhood dog. If I had been 10 seconds later, he probably would’ve been killed.
By the time I got there, Pepper was pinned on his back and the other dog was going for his throat. Pepper fought back, but he’s 16 pounds and the other dog was 50+ pounds, so he wouldn’t have lasted long. I’ve heard horror stories from fellow dog owners about similar situations that ended tragically.
Thankfully, the dog ran away when I got close. That doesn’t always happen. In fact, I’ve helped to break up dog fights where the aggressor simply won’t back down. I got lucky.
During my travels, I’ve had several close calls with aggressive dogs and irresponsible owners. Just the other day, a pit bull charged at Pepper as we were walking through a campground. The dog was leashed well enough to stop the charge, but barely.
I started carrying an umbrella with me, which scares away some dogs when you suddenly shoot it open. And I recently bought a small stun gun to carry, but state laws vary a lot, so I can’t rely on that for protection.
This spiked collar is my latest attempt to protect Pepper. If an aggressive dog manages to pin him and go for his throat, or if it goes for the back of his neck — it will get a face full of spikes.
From the reviews, it seems like these collars really do work. I’m grateful to have an added layer of security. Pepper seems to like the collar too. Maybe he feels like a badass?
What do you think? Do you have any tips for protecting my dog? How do you like Pepper’s new collar? (FYI, I bought the collar coyotevestco. They have several different options, including a badass spiked vest!) #schnauzers#schnauzer#schnauzersofinstagram#schnauzer_lovers#dogsofinstagram#schnauzerlove#dogsonadventures#dogismycopilot

Love it! Easy to clean, easily adjustable and very effective. Zoey wears hers at camp after we are done hiking when we want to give her more freedom yet keep her safe😁. Also peace of mind when you are in an area which might have aggressive dogs. It will make them think twice!
Today I received my new spiked collar from CoyoteVest😁. It’s super comfortable, easy to clean, and comes in a variety of colours. Now I have protection at all times...🐶🐾🐶🐾

Review by Sam E. on 24 Dec 2018review stating Awesome
I feel a lot more relaxed walking my small dog around town now that he has his spiked collar. He had been attacked twice by dogs with irresponsible dog owners. Now I know my baby is protected -- in the even that I'm not able to foresee another dog coming at him
The most common way coyotes kill is by grabbing their prey around the neck and shaking. This violent action is intended to break the neck of their prey and end the struggle immediately. Similarly, when domestic dogs scuffle they try to gain control of their opponent by going for the neck.
Protect against neck bites with a CoyoteCollar™
The CoyoteCollar has outrageous 1" battle ready spikes. If a predator tries to bite this collar -- it will bite back! The "neck bite/death shake" scenario is off the table.
The oldest trick in the book?
Spiked collars have been used to protect dogs for a very long time. However, most of the collars on the market today are more about style and less about function. So we did a lot of research trying to come up with the perfect "everyday" spiked collar that meets the following requirements:
Serious Protection
Waterproof
Easy On/Off
Highly adjustable to get a perfect fit
Super comfortable for the dog
Durable and easy to clean
The requirement to be waterproof essentially restricts the choice of material to nylon webbing. After much trial and error we found the best way to meet our requirements is to attach the spikes to the nylon webbing using a special type of stiff double sided Velcro. The result is an adjustable collar so easy to use and so comfortable that you will use it often -- and hopefully be using it in the event it is ever needed to protect your dog from an unexpected attack.
The CoyoteCollar can also be used with the CoyoteVest or the SpikeVest. It can be used as a throat guard underneath the vest - simply remove spikes until there is just enough to cover the throat while wearing the vest - afterwards you can put the spikes back on for full neck coverage. You can also use it on top of the vest (as shown below) to have additional throat protection and more spikes around the neck. If you want to use it on top of the vest be sure and measure the neck circumference with the vest and then order a size large enough to fit.

Sizing Guide
Our CoyoteCollar comes in three sizes each with enough spikes to cover the maximum size listed in the table below. You can't adjust the collar bigger than the maximum size but you can adjust it smaller by removing spikes and tightening the collar.
To choose a size measure the circumference of your dogs neck and then select the collar that has a maximum size at least as large what you measured. You can always select a size larger than what you need - and then just remove spikes. And if you wish the collar was wider you can always get two collars and put them both on at the same time.

Note: If you want black chrome spikes instead of the standard silver chrome spikes just let us know in your order notes - please be specific about which products you want to have black spikes. *Black Chrome spikes only has a very slight hue of Black. Not much difference in color. The hard plastic spikes are chrome-plated, lightweight, and waterproof.

Added protection
Lucy and Ethel love their new collars - they fit nicely and look great too. I feel an added measure of safety using them because I've caught a few coyotes sneaking up to us from behind. Should one strike, I feel the collar will give me time to react before anything really bad can happen.
