Ease of Mind
Review by Lee B. on 10 Sep 2023 review stating Ease of Mind
We live in an area where coyotes run the streets and neighborhoods daily. They enter yards and rv parks. Small dogs are routinely taken leash and all. We have a large dog and a small dog. Our rv park is next to a preserve that is home to many coyotes. From dusk to dawn we were always nervous taking Sarge out. Thanks to his new coyote vest we have ease of mind now! Sarge is feeling very confident as well!! The fit is great. The vest is lightweight. We leave the neck portion velcroed to just slip over his head. I posted this pic on our town’s Facebook page and he received many comment, questions, and likes😊.

Thank you for creating these protective coats! Our backyard has coyotes and birds of prey. With their coats on, my two 7lb poodles are protected and I feel safe letting them run around. Unlike some safety coats the fabric on Coyote Vests is lightweight and flexible.

Great vest
Review by Jan P. on 26 May 2023 review stating Great vest
Love it! My papillon is still able to run around and explore the woods while I am more comfortable knowing he has an added layer of protection. It’s lightweight so his mobility is not at all affected. I ordered orange because he shows up nicely in the bush. It’s a super bright orange and we can see him, even at a distance.

Review by Leslie V. on 16 May 2023 review stating Peace of mind
This coyote vest is the best! Fits our Yorkie perfectly and comfortably, and the extra peace of mind is invaluable. We live in San Diego and tragic pet stories from coyotes, etc., are frequent and heartbreaking. Happy to support this local company, and big thanks for such a quality product.

Fabulous Products! Highly Recommend!
Review by Janine C. on 29 Apr 2023 review stating Fabulous Products! Highly Recommend!
The CoyoteCollar is the 3rd item I’ve purchased so I’m clearly a fan of Coyote Vest Company! I like having a variety of products to choose from based on the occasion:
- The CoyoteCollar will be used at times when I’d like Bella to wear a pretty harness (such as dinner out). It was easy to adjust to fit her neck.
- We use the Bully Harness most often on multiple daily walks. We live in a Gated community and know most of the dogs, but I feel at ease knowing Bella has the important neck protection in the event a dog ‘turns’ on her. It was easy to adjust to fit Bellas head and also easy to put on & off.
- The CoyoteVest offers the ultimate in protection and gives me the best confidence. We use it on evening walks (sunset/dusk) when coyotes are more frequently sighted in our neighborhood. It’s also super easy to put on and adjust. Plus I love the Texas Tan color on Bella! I don’t have an issue with the back slipping side to side, but I use a light leash. My husband uses a K9 leash with heavy hardware and said it sometimes slips.

I recently purchased a home
Review by Robert G. on 12 Apr 2023 review stating I recently purchased a home
I recently purchased a home in the Conejo Valley of Southern California where coyotes pose a significant threat to smaller pets both in residential areas and the surrounding open space. Not wanting to be deterred from hiking with my fifteen-pound terrier mix, I was anxious to find something that would afford a measure of protection on the trail. A friend of mine told me about the Coyote Vest, and after looking at the description and photos on the company’s website, I ordered one. The vest arrived very quickly and fit my dog perfectly. Adjustment of the vest and installation of the quills was very straightforward using the provided instructions, and my dog adapted immediately to wearing it. Most significantly, the peace of mind it provides when hiking cannot be overstated. Whereas earlier hikes without the vest were stressful due to my dog’s vulnerability, I can now relax and enjoy the environment knowing he has significant protection from attack. Thank you for a great product that has allowed my furry companion and me to enjoy the outdoors more fully!

After my assembly they are fine but she definitely looks a little silly. I’m sure it will only take 1 time out at night before someone asks me what’s up with her WWE outfit but think it’s a great idea….I hear coyotes consistently in our back woods so this will ease my anxiety during the day when she’s outside

Badass Chihuahuas
Review by Mary N. on 23 Feb 2023 review stating Badass Chihuahuas
Love these vests! I bought two CoyoteVests and one CoyoteCollar for my Chi mixes. They're about 10lbs each and the small fits well. Currently I'm putting the vests over their winter coats and attaching the leash to the vests; it works perfectly for my hardbody prancy dog, but slips slightly on my chunky sausage-shaped dog. (I haven't tried the anti-slip straps but love that they're included.) I feel less anxious on walks with my little ones wearing their vests, and they look adorably badass, too!

Review by Mona S. on 14 Jan 2023 review stating Great product
Love knowing she has this extra layer of protection if we meet up with wild animals on the trails. She seems to be comfortable in it, it does not inhibit her running and sniffing. We have had quite a few coyotes attacking dogs in our area, so this purchase just made sense. I feel much more confident on our walks now… and I think she does too. Anything to protect our babies.

You won't regret it!!
Review by Taylor H. on 12 Jan 2023 review stating You won't regret it!!
We had been going back and forth on getting our mini dachshund, Freya, a coyote vest because we have coyotes in the neighborhood and large birds occasionally fly by ... when she was attacked by one of our cats when she tried to break them up from fighting, like she's done dozens of times. We were shocked, in 3 years of them being together, being left alone together, nothing like this had ever happened. We rushed her to the emergency vet and she ended up needing surgery to close 3 wounds. (We also took our cat to the vet who was diagnosed with anxiety and a thyroid problem, he's receiving help.)

After that happened, we decided to go ahead and get her a vest with all of the attachments. Freya loves it!! It makes her so much more confident. We let her wear the vest with the spikes around the house and she barges past everyone. When she's outside she gets the vest, spikes, and whiskers with a light when it's dark. We love it so much we ended up getting our mountain cur, Appa, a vest for when we go hiking.

It's definitely worth it!

Holiday Whiskers and all coyote vest products are the best!
Review by Marianne C. on 9 Jan 2023 review stating Holiday Whiskers and all coyote vest products are the best!
Really can’t say enough about these and all the coyote vest accessories! Our 8 lb long haired chihuahua named Fish is the proud owner of a coyote vest, a spike vest, lots of coyote whiskers and pee lights! Not only is this gear protective, it is VERY well made and the only harness Fishy cannot slip out of! The vests are also water resistant and very adjustable therefore easily worn over winter coats here in Canada. Even larger well-meaning dogs adjust their play around Fish when he is in his gear, making play time much safer. The website provides very detailed and helpful information about all their equipment. As you can see in the videos,
The vests don’t slow Fish down at all! 😂
Highly recommend!!

Review by NATALIE T. on 28 Oct 2022 review stating Highly recommend Coyote vest!
Very happy with my purchase of coyote vest, hawkshield, Hawkeyes and whiskers. Vest fits well and is adjustable which means will fit as my puppy (8 month havanese) grows. Very high quality design and manufacture and a great investment in her safety. I now feel comfortable letting her roam off leash with me on our rural property. Took about 5 minutes for her to get used to it and it doesn’t hinder her adventures at all. I love the colour options and the overall punk look! It’s certainly a conversation starter and a great opportunity to recommend the product.

Baby body armor
Review by Anne on 9 Dec 2020 review stating Baby body armor
Meet Remy and Dash, both of whom are 2.5 months old (different litters/breeds and two days apart in age). Remy is a smart and stylish girl with good taste, as noted when she chooses to chew up the finest shoes in my closet! Dash is a little guy that is very independent, often disappearing quickly, which makes protecting him even more important! Both pups live in a very rural area of AZ, where they are constantly in danger of being scooped up by the red-tailed hawk that soars overhead daily, the huge owls that sit outside my house at night, and the coyote(s) that have decided to mark my territory as their own, which entails jumping over a 6 fence and bypassing spotlights and motion lights. So, just how do you keep puppies safe while they are growing and learning to do everything properly, such as using the doggy door at night? My searches led me to CoyoteVest, but I was not sure it would fit my needs with two small puppies. Just how do you put a spikey vests on puppies and allow them to play while keeping them safe? Thankfully, the spikes and Coyote Whiskers are easily detachable when not needed, allowing just use of the vest! I decided to start off by adding the Coyote Whiskers, which proved to be a safe option. While the puppies enjoyed grabbing each other by the collars and attempting to pull the Whiskers out of the vests, everything was made very well and durable. I only put the vests on the pups when allowing them outside of the courtyard during the day (supervised), which enabled them to roam the fenced-in one acre surrounding the house. They were so busy exploring that they really didnt attempt to play much with each other. Remy didnt mind her vest at all and actually seemed to prance a bit more in all her splendor, but Dash was somewhat stiff and didnt move very well. Dash is a "compact model," having a thicker neck and being so low to the ground that he often fell over and had difficulty moving his head. I adjusted his vest to where it was a little looser around the neck and waist, which gave him more flexibility. My main option of having them wear the vests during the day was because Dash is still under 10 lbs, and I felt it kept the hawk from thinking of him as food. Remy is just under 20 lbs, so there is still the chance the hawk could attempt to grab her as well. When purchasing the vests, I deliberately went one size up from what they should have been wearing. Thankfully, the vests could still be adjusted to where they fit well, although they hung quite a ways past the tail, which was sort of nice because it made the pups look larger they they were. I am assuming it will not be long before Remy does not need to wear a vest during the day due to predator birds, so Dash will get her vest once she outgrows it. I will add the spikes only when I plan to walk them on a leash, which will keep them from attempting to play and bite on the spikes. The spikes are made from a hard plastic and could hurt a pup when playing, especially since puppies are clumsy and could "put an eye out.," as our moms used to tell us as kids. Even though Remy will no doubt outgrow her vest relatively soon, I am pretty sure she will still be able to wear it for spike protection, as they have a lot of adjustment room, although it might be shorter than normal and not allow the spikes to go down her backend as far. I also purchased two large spiked collars for when the pups are larger, assuming they might need them at night when they go out to patrol, as they will have free roam of the property at that point through the courtyard doggy door. Even though I know the pups are not yet at a size where they can safely roam the yard by themselves, I feel sooo much better when they wear the vests and are allowed to run around and explore! The vests are made very nicely and also packaged very nicely when shipped. One nag I had in the beginning was how the clips were under the belly and chin, making it difficult to snap on a wriggling puppy. However, I noticed that the Velcro that goes around the neck has two Velcro anchors on the back of the collar. If you open the two Velcro anchors up, you can remove the entire Velcro neck strap and position it however you like. You can also position the Velcro belly clips more to the side, which makes it much quicker to put the vest on and take it off.

Review by Sandy M. on 18 Mar 2020 review stating Love the Coyote Vest
Very happy with our coyote vest. Our fenced in yard is next to a large field. We’ve had a big increase in Red Tail Hawks, Falcons, Bald Eagles, and Turkey Vultures. After having two hawks feast on their prey in our yard we immediately ordered the coyote vest. It’s so light weight our Papillon isn’t bothered at all. Great during active exercise, too. Love it & thank you!

HawkEyes Didn’t Fit
Review by Sue B. on 16 Mar 2020 review stating HawkEyes Didn’t Fit
Purchased a mini vest and Hawk Eyes were too big to add without losing spikes. Logically the vest is tiny and can only hold so much. Puppy was quick to grow accustomed to wearing. Love the extra feeling of security when she’s outside. Light doesn’t work. This is my 3rd vest purchase and lights are not good on any. Reflective trim is effective.

Peace of mind!
Review by Carla V. on 11 Mar 2020 review stating Peace of mind!
The coyote vest has given me peace of mind that our little guy will survive if he is attacked by one of the coyotes, hawks or eagles that we have on our property. It must be comfortable because he doesn’t mind wearing it! Thanks for a great product!

Tucker Loves his new vest
Review by Gail S. on 10 Mar 2020 review stating Tucker Loves his new vest
Tucker looks so cool in this vest. No more worries about Coyotes attacking Tucker. we can go out at anytime of the early mornings or evenings now and not worry as much. The body fits perfectly. I measured his body and I also measured two of his coats and what a great fit. The coat is just so cool. It was worth every dollar. thanks CoyoteVest for inventing such a great vest for our little doggies. 🐕🐕

The BullyHarness really is the ultimate spiked collar. It can be used alone for maximum neck protection or together with the BullyVest. Click Here to learn how the BullyHarness and BullyVest can work together.

The main feature of the BullyHarness is a sturdy Velcro band that encircles the entire neck and creates a platform where any arrangement of spikes can be attached. The Velcro holds the spikes high and stiff and is attached to a stab-resistant skirt that helps protect the lower part of the neck. We include enough spikes to cover the entire neck 360 degrees but you can add or subtract spikes as you like.

To use the BullyHarness you adjust the large Velcro band that forms the collar one time. By repositioning the Velcro you can tighten or loosen the collar so that it's as small as possible but can still be comfortably slipped over your dogs head. Therefore it should only be used on dogs that don't mind having a harness slipped over their head.

Once your dog is wearing the BullyHarness it can be used alone as a spiked collar or you can attach the included chest-strap and waist-band to create a comfortable and secure harness. Click Here to read the BullyHarness instructions and learn exactly how it works.

Choosing a Size

Please note: If you're using the BullyHarness with the BullyVest both sizes must be the same. In this case you should first choose the correct size BullyVest based on your dogs back length and then order the same size BullyHarness.

The BullyHarness is slipped on and off over your dogs head so the correct size depends on the circumference of your dogs head. The easiest way to determine this is to use some kind of strap (belt, leash, etc) to create a loop in your hands and try slipping it over your dogs head. Once you have the loop as small as possible let go of the end and measure how long the strap is.

Once you have the head circumference choose the correct size harness from the table below. Make sure your measurement falls within the given range. If your measurement falls within two different ranges you should also consider the length of your dogs neck and choose a wider or thinner collar width. If your purchasing as a gift we do offer gift cards that can help keep your secret.

BullyHarness Size Maximum Head Circumference (inches) Collar Width (inches) Weight (lbs)*
Mini
10" - 12" 1" 2 - 5
X-Small 11" - 13" 1" 5 - 7
Small 12" - 15" 1.5" 6 - 12
Medium
13" - 16" 2" 10 - 28
* The head circumference is the most important measurement. Use the Weight range to help choose but the weight of different breeds varies significantly.

Great hiking getup for snack-sized doggos

Our dog Duck is an 11 lbs. Chihuahua mix, with a skinny and lanky build. The Bully vest and collar fit him well, and the anti-slip straps sealed the deal with keeping it on him. He loves hiking but is perfectly snack-sized for most of nature's wild creatures. We love being able to take him on hikes now with much less worry!
